Ten Hidden tricks of Facebook
Here’s a good mix of lesser-known features, shortcuts, and hacks:
---
1. See How Facebook Tracks You (Off-Facebook Activity)
Go to Settings > Your Information > Off-Facebook Activity.
You can view (and clear) the data Facebook collects from other apps and websites about you.
2. Hidden Message Requests
Open Messenger, tap your profile picture > Message Requests > Spam.
There could be tons of hidden messages from people who aren't your friends.
3. Save Posts for Later
Hit the three dots on any post > Save Post.
Then go to Saved (left sidebar or profile menu) to view all your saved content.
4. Download All Your Data
Settings > Your Information > Download your information.
You can get everything: photos, chats, posts, reactions — even deleted messages sometimes.
5. See How Much Time You Spend on Facebook
Menu > Settings & Privacy > Your Time on Facebook.
Useful for managing your screen time (if you’re getting too addicted).
6. Turn Off “Seen” on Messages (Secretly Read Messages)
Use browser extensions like Unseen for Facebook (Chrome) or third-party apps.
It lets you read messages without showing “Seen” to the other person.
7. Customize Your News Feed
Favorites: Prioritize friends or pages so they always show first.
Settings > News Feed Preferences > Manage Favorites.
8. Restrict Someone Without Unfriending
Profile > Three dots > Friends > Edit Friend List > Restricted.
They’ll only see what’s public without knowing they’re restricted.
9. Find Hidden Inbox for Marketplace
Go to Marketplace > Your Account > Messages.
Sometimes messages here don't show in regular Messenger chats.
10. Turn on Profile Lock (For Extra Privacy)
Mainly in some regions (like India, Middle East).
Lock your profile so strangers can’t see your full info or photos.
Profile > Three dots > Lock Profile.
