Background:

Brendan Greene was a graphic designer and photographer before entering the gaming industry. He lived in Brazil for a while and returned to Ireland with limited resources. Inspired by the Japanese movie Battle Royale, he began creating mods for games like Arma 2 and DayZ.


His Battle Royale mod for Arma 2 became popular, leading to opportunities with other developers. Eventually, Bluehole Studio (now Krafton) invited him to South Korea to develop PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) as a standalone title.


PUBG became a massive success, helping define the battle royale genre.


Current Work:

 Greene later left PUBG Corp and founded PlayerUnknown Productions, working on more experimental projects like Project Prologue.
